Please join us for worship this Sunday, the 5th Sunday after Epiphany. It will be a special day for our congregation. Sunday is Boy Scout Sunday, and we have invited Boy Scout Troop 205 to attend our service. We are the charter organization for this troop and we always enjoy the fellowship we have with them when they join us. These are special young men and we are honored to sponsor them. After our service please be sure to join us downstairs in the Family Room for a coffee hour where we will be able to spend some time with the troop.

This Sunday is also Souper Bowl Sunday! This is our chance to help the needy in our area. You may have three square meals a day, but not everybody does. We will be collecting both funds and non perishable food items for Paramus Friendly Neighbors, the agency in our area that helps those less fortunate than us. This event coincides with the big sports event of the day — The Super Bowl — and is meant to highlight the incredible amount of money sponsors pay for television commercials during this broadcast, in comparison to the number of hungry people in our world and how much food those expensive commercials could buy.

Our Sunday school meets at 9:30am in the office building. All students are encouraged to attend!

This Saturday, the Crafty Ladies group meets in the office building from 10:00am to noon. All women (AND men) are invited to bring their craft projects to share with the group. There is always room for one more!

You are also invited to attend a special program next Wednesday, February 7, entitled Equipping for Vitality for Congregations. It will be held in the Fellowship Hall from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Come join us to learn how to increase the vitality in our church. Food will be served too!

Our readings for this Sunday are as follows:
Isaiah 40:21-31
Psalm 147:1-11, 20c
1 Corinthians 9:16-23
Mark 1:29-39

God is good ALL the time!

While in church look for our soup pot! The Souper Bowl of Caring will be accepting donations of both cash and food items to be donated to The Paramus Friendly Neighbors. Donations can be made through February 4th, when the “other” Super Bowl will be played!
