There is a great hymn we have sung at Christmas — the choir used to sing it as a anthem: “There’s a New King A’ Comin’.” What a wonderful way to announce the coming of Christ in Advent. There is also a New Year coming — as we start the church year with the first Sunday in Advent this coming Sunday. What a celebration it will be:
It is also Youth Sunday and the Sunday School and Confirmation class will lead us in worship. The Confirmands will light the candle on the Advent Wreath.
After Worship, we will pause on the front lawn for the blessing of our nativity scene and then go over to the Fellowship Hall for our annual Advent Lunch. Please come and bring a side dish or dessert.
We will also have the materials to make advent wreaths for our homes. Please bring a pair of wire cutters if you have one.
Worship is at 10:30am. Sunday School and Confirmation class — please be at church at 9am for preparation for the worship.
Don’t wait until Christmas to invite a friend or neighbor to worship. Advent is a good time to invite someone to join us. It gives them a chance to get to know us as we move toward Christmas, so they will be more comfortable about joining us on Christmas Eve.
See you in Church!
