This weekend we celebrate the 4th of July. In Paramus, we are celebrating on the 5th and 6th, partly because of the weather. We celebrate our freedom and independence (two different things!) and the many things we enjoy as a nation.
God also has a message for us — to remember those among us who do not enjoy the fullness of that freedom and independence. As we rightly celebrate what we have, God also calls us to remember those who do not have all they need. God often does not see things the way we do and calls us to look around with new eyes so we can live in the world God intended.
We celebrate our blessings and God’s call to view the world in a new way at worship on Sunday at 10:30 am.
Please remember the Paramus parade has been postponed to Saturday, starting off from Century road at 9:00 am. I understand Midland Ave. will be closed at 8:30 am. You are welcome to park in the church lot if you can get there before the closing and willing to stay until the parade clears!
