Tomorrow, March 5, is Ash Wednesday — the beginning of Lent. Lent is a time of penance, as we remember our need for God’s mercy — and also a time of hope, as we remember God’s promise to forgive us and give us eternal life.
On Ash Wednesday, we gather to receive a visible reminder of our mortality in the form of ashes but also to hear the words of Good News given to us in Jesus Christ. I invite you to join with your brothers and sisters in Christ as we begin this Holy time together.
Services on Ash Wednesday are at 8:00 am and 8:00 pm. Both services include the imposition of ashes and Holy Communion. Our Women of the ELCA group will provide a light breakfast following the 8:00 am service.
