Leading Us Into Lent

This Sunday celebrates the Transfiguration of Jesus, a spectacular gathering of Jesus, Moses and Elijah on a mountain top where God blesses Jesus as he prepares for His journey to the Cross. It is the beginning of Jesus’ final days, His sacrifice for our sin. The Transfiguration reveals Jesus as our Savior, the one sent by God for our redemption.

We will celebrate God’s work in Jesus this Sunday with services at 9:00 am and 10:30 am. Sunday school will meet following the 9:00 am service.

Lent begins on Wednesday with Ash Wednesday services at 8:00 am and 8:00 pm, but before we enter into that holy time, we will enjoy our annual Fat Tuesday Pancake Supper on Tuesday at 6:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall.

We are also watching the weather reports about an approaching storm that is due to arrive late on Sunday and continue into Monday. At this point, the Fat Tuesday is still on. Should we find it necessary to cancel, we will send out an email. If you know of anyone who is not on our email list, please pass on the information as you receive it.
