Waiting for Christmas

We don’t like to wait. We want everything NOW! We eat fast food, expect overnight shipping, and can’t wait to get to Christmas.

But wait….! We have some things to do before we get to the gift of the Christ Child. We have some preparations that need to be done, preparations in our hearts so we can receive the gift with appreciation.

Amidst all the frantic rushing this season can bring, God asks us to slow down and reflect on the fact that we cannot bring the peace of Christmas with all our running around. Only God can bring that for which we pray. Take the time to let God know of our longing, and then wait in holy expectation of the gift of “God with us” to come.

We celebrate the waiting this Sunday with services at 9 am and 10:30 am. Invite a friend to share this time with us — they are longing for the Good News too!

See you in Church!
